Aceh Singkil, |1kabar.com. October 15, 2025 Legal proceedings involving Yakarim Munir have once again drawn public attention after the fourth hearing at the Aceh Singkil District Court was postponed due to the repeated absence of three key witnesses from the plaintiff, PT Delima Makmur.

Yakarim Munir’s legal team issued a strong condemnation, viewing this as a serious disregard for the integrity of the judicial process.

“We express our deep disappointment at the absence of PT Delima Makmur officials in today’s court session. They should be the most proactive party in this process, considering it was they who initiated this case by criminalizing our client, Yakarim Munir,” stated Zahrul, Head of Yakarim’s Legal Defense Team.

Zahrul emphasized that the non-appearance of the witnesses—Bradley, Sufriadi, and Ulim, all key figures from the plaintiff’s side—constitutes a betrayal of the legal process.

“They were duly summoned by the Public Prosecutor, yet still failed to appear. This undermines the principle of justice. They must be present to account for their allegations in open court so that the truth may be fully revealed,” he continued.

According to Zahrul, the absence of the witnesses harms not only the defendant and his counsel but also disrupts the workflow of the presiding judges and prosecutors who have prepared the court agenda.

The legal team also criticized the plaintiff’s request for the witnesses to testify virtually via Zoom, labeling it as baseless and indicative of an unwillingness to face the legal process directly.

“Their request to testify online is a clear sign of fear. It suggests an attempt to dictate the terms of the trial and bypass established criminal procedures. We strongly reject any form of remote testimony. If they believe they are in the right, why are they afraid to appear in person?” Zahrul asserted.

He further stressed that the rule of law must never bow to economic influence or political power.

“Justice must not be undermined by those who believe their economic standing grants them privilege. This is an insult to justice, and we will not remain silent,” he concluded.

As of this publication, the Aceh Singkil Public Prosecutor’s Office has not released an official response regarding the repeated absence of witnesses from PT Delima Makmur in the last four court sessions. The public now awaits whether the next hearing will proceed properly—or become yet another stain on the pursuit of justice in the region.
